Lexi Davis ended her career at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" on a high note on Tuesday night as the Dumas native registered eight kills on 11 swings with no attack errors to hit .727 on the night to go along with seven total blocks (one solo, six assisted) in a Senior Night sweep over the rival Greyhounds (25-22, 25-16, 25-21) in Canyon. The Lady Buffs snap a five match losing streak to move to 12-15 (4-10 LSC) while ENMU falls to 12-16 (4-11 LSC) on the season.
The Lady Buffs were led offensively by Bentsen with 10 kills on 18 swings with just one attack error to hit .500 on the night while Davis registered eight kills followed by
Michaela Montgomery with six, Jackson guided the WT offense with 28 assists on the night while Britten led all players with 12 digs. WT hit .244 on the night with 33 kills on 90 assists with 11 attack errors to go along with 32 assists, four service aces, 38 digs and 13 total blocks in the match.
Eastern New Mexico was led by Frye and Biel who tied for a match high with 13 kills followed by Courtney Lawson with seven, Aguirre led all players with 39 assists in the match while Aguilar and Faumui had 10 digs to lead the Greyhounds. ENMU hit .139 as a team with 41 kills on 115 swings with 25 attack errors to go along with 41 assists, four service aces, 42 digs and just four blocks in the match.
NEXT TIME OUTThe Lady Buffs hit the road this weekend for non-conference action as they travel to Wichita, Kansas for Friday matches scheduled against Oklahoma Panhandle State (2 p.m.) and host Newman (7 p.m.) followed by a matchup with defending South Central Regional Champion Arkansas-Fort Smith on Saturday with first serve set for 1:30 p.m. at Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita.
