CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M registered their second straight victory on Saturday afternoon as they swept past the visiting Stars of Oklahoma City University (27-25, 25-21, 25-11) in front of over 300 fans at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon. The Lady Buffs move to 6-8 overall on the season while OCU snaps a seven match win streak to move to 11-4.
The Lady Buffs were led offensively by
Cori Haley with 12 kills on 27 swings with just one attack error to hit .407 on the afternoon followed by
Michaela Montgomery with nine kills and
Lexi Davis with seven, Jackson guided the WT offense with 28 assists to go along with 10 digs for the double-double while
Aspen Sanders tied a team lead with 10 digs. The Lady Buffs hit .290 as a team with 37 kills on 93 swings with 10 attack errors to go along with 35 assists, seven service aces, 42 digs and seven total blocks in the match.
The Stars were led by Leisure with 11 kills on 23 swings with three attack errors to hit .348 on the afternoon, Heather Watson led all players with 29 assists in the match while Dani Chase registered a match high 14 digs. OCU hit .132 as a team with 35 kills on 106 swings with 21 attack errors to go along with 33 assists, two service aces, 39 digs and just three blocks in the match.
