COMMERCE, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M started slow and never recovered as they suffered a straight set loss at Texas A&M-Commerce (25-19, 25-23, 25-18) on Saturday afternoon at the A&M-Commerce Fieldhouse. The Lady Buffs drop their second straight contest to fall to 11-12 (3-8 LSC) while the Lions improve to 14-8 (6-5 LSC) on the season.
The Lady Buffs were led offensively by
Cori Haley with eight kills on 35 swings with three attack errors to hit .143 on the afternoon while
Elisa Bentsen tallied seven kills on 16 swings with just one error to hit .375, Jackson guided the WT offense with 29 assists to go along with 13 digs for the double-double while Britten led the team with 16 digs in the match. The Lady Buffs hit .114 as a team with 30 kills on 126 swings with 16 attack errors to go along with 30 assists, no service aces, 58 digs and just six blocks.
Texas A&M-Commerce was led by Veronika Baric with a match high 19 kills on 41 swings with seven attack error to hit .293 while Taryn Driver also tallied double-digit kills with 11, Courtney Tate led the Lions with a match high 40 assists on the afternoon while Ashley Mireles led all players with 21 digs in the match. The Lions hit .195 in the sweep with 52 kills on 149 swings with 23 attack errors to go along with 50 assists, two service aces, 73 digs and eight blocks in the match.
