AUSTIN, Texas – Goals from Conrod Goulbourne and Christian Suthers propelled the Buffs to a 2-0 victory over #13 St. Edwards on Saturday afternoon in Austin, Texas. WT improves its record to 8-4 and have won seven of its last eight matches.

"Overall the team had a high level of intensity and fighting spirit," head coach Butch Lauffer said. "I thought that we worked really hard as a unit . Everyone did their part today. We were very dangerous on the transition and caused them a lot of problems. We scored in two very crucial moments, right before half and at the end of the match."

St. Edward's entered the match with one of the best defenses in the nation and that proved to be true during the opening minutes of the match. Both teams struggled to find rhythm in the first 30 minutes of the match. WT made the most of its best opportunity when it earned a free kick in the 42nd minute.. The Hilltoppers were unable to clear a free kick as Goulbourne got on the end of a loose ball to give the Buffs the lead. The Buffs held the Hilltoppers with out a shot on goal in the first half.

The Hilltoppers brought more pressure forward in the second half but the Buffs defense held its own. SEU's only shot on goal came in the 78th minute but was easily saved by Patrick Satorie. The Buffs caught a break when the Hilltoppers went down to 10 men with less than ten minutes left. WT sealed the deal right before the final whistle when Suthers scored his fifth goal of the season after SEU brought all their players forward.
