2011: Dougherty became one of the best middles in the South Central Region during her junior campaign for the Lady Buffs in 2011, registering a LSC leading 191 total blocks including 34 solos to go along with 296 kills for an average of 2.29 per set. Dougherty was named the LSC Defensive Player of the Year along with being honored with spots on the AVCA and Daktronics All-South Central Region teams as well as being named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American.

2010: Dougherty had a breakout sophomore campaign for the Lady Buffs, both offensively and on the defensive side of the net as well. She posted 173 kills while averaging 1.60 kills per set and collected 75 total blocks (eight solo), which ranked second on the team. Dougherty had the best offensive match of her young career against Cameron on Oct. 7, 2010, setting career-highs in both kills (17) and attack percentage (.900). The .900 attack percentage put her name in the WTAMU records books as well, as she ranks tied for ninth in individual attack percentage in a match.

2009: Dougherty saw time in six matches with one start for the Lady Buffs as a true freshman middle blocker in 2009. She recorded hitting percentage of .120 with nine kills in 25 attempts. Dougherty recorded five blocks for an average of .560 blocks per set. She registered a career high four kills against Southwestern Oklahoma on Oct. 8, 2009 and two blocks against Angelo State on Sept. 19, 2009.

High School: Dougherty played middle blocker for head coach Paul Goodwin at Mercy High in Omaha, Neb. As a senior, she was named as her team's most valuable player and was the class B leader in blocks. She was also listed in the top 10 in class B for kills and was selected to the GICC all-tournament team. A multi-sport athlete, Dougherty was a four-year letterwinner in basketball and was an all-State honorable mention.
