Casey Shingler enters his sixth season on the sidelines at West Texas A&M. The Tucson, Arizona was elevated to the program's Associate Head Coach in March of 2020.
In 2021, Shingler helped guide the Lady Buffs to another historic season as they claimed the program’s 16th Lone Star Conference Tournament and 14th NCAA South Central Regional titles.  WT swept St. Edward’s in the conference finals to secure the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where the Lady Buffs earned the No. 7 seed.  With the match tied, 2-2, the Lady Buffs came back to defeat No. 1 MSU Denver in the final set, 15-8, to capture the program’s 14th region title to advance to the National Championship tournament for the 14th time in school history.Â
WT made a run to the South Central Regional Quarterfinals in 2019, finished the campaign with an overall record of 22-7. 2019 marked the 27th overall appearance by the Lady Buffs in the NCAA Division II Volleyball Postseason.
The Lady Buffs finished the 2017 campaign with an overall record of 23-14 with a 12-8 mark in the Lone Star Conference as WT made their 26th appearance in the NCAA Division II Volleyball Postseason as the seventh seed in the South Central Region. The Lady Buffs then went on a run as they topped then #12 Tarleton State and Metro State to advance to the program's 16th Regional Championship match before falling to #9 Regis in four-sets.
A native of Tucson, Shingler graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Physical Education in 2009 and completed his Master's in Educational Leadership from Arkansas-Monticello in 2012. While at the Arizona, Shingler was a libero for the Wildcats, winning the 2009 Mountain West Conference Title and earning a 5th place finish in the National Tournament.
After graduation, Shingler was hired as an assistant coach at the University of Arkansas-Monticello. When he was promoted to head coach in 2011, he more than doubled the win total of UAM and claimed four conference matches in the Great American Conference after the team had gone winless in league play in 2010. During the 2012 season, Shingler was an assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania. During his time at Penn, they produced the nation’s highest dig average and All-American Dani Shepard. Â
Shingler has also coached at the club level, leading multiple teams to Top 16 finishes including a Zona 17-1 2nd place finish at 2014 Far Westerners Qualifier and a 5th place finish at 2014 GJNC.
