Colleen Pitts enters her third season as the women’s soccer assistant coach after a four year playing career at Texas Tech University.
She has had tremendous success working with the Lady Buff goalkeepers, notably Yvette Bedoy who graduated last spring as the program’s all-time saves leader with 306.
In 2012, her first season with the Lady Buffs, Pitts helped lead WT to a Lone Star Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championship with a 13-7-1 record as well as the program's ninth appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Last season, in 2013, the Lady Buffs held a 6-8-6 overall record and made a trip to the LSC Tournament Finals.
As a senior in 2010, Pitts started 11 matches and registered 45 saves as the Lady Raiders went 11-8-1 and made an appearance in the Big 12 Tournament. As a junior in 2009, Pitts tied the Tech single season record for shutouts during conference play, including a career high nine save performance against then #12 Texas A&M. She is fourth all-time in shutouts in Texas Tech history with nine, and seventh all-time in saves with 89.
The Dallas, Texas native also boasts an impressive club team resume, winning the 2006 USYSA National Championship with the Texans while also being named a Golden Glove honoree.
Pitts also had a standout prep career at the Ursuline Academy of Dallas, winning four consecutive TAPPS State Championships from 2003-2006 while being named all-State three times.
She holds a USSF “D” License and the National Soccer Coaches Associtation of America (NSCAA) Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma.
Pitts received her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and her master’s degree in Mass Communications from Texas Tech University.
