Biography

Coach Jameson’s Take:  Holly gives 100% at every practice and encourages other to do so as well through example. On the course, she digs deep and produces scores under pressure when it counts. As one of the longest hitters in the LSC, Holly embraces her strength and uses it to her advantage on the course. She digs deep and gets the most out of her game every round she plays. Her entire WT career, she has helped the team excel on the course. 

2019-20: Winter had another strong season for the Lady Buffs where she recorded three Top 10 finishes including a victory at the WT Fall Invitational. She finished the season with a 77.07 scoring average, which ranked was the 17th best in the region and 116th in the nation according to Golfstat. She picked up her third career victory at the rain-shortened WT Fall Invitational after shooting a 1-under, 71 in the opening round. She also tied fourth at the DII West Region Preview at 4-over, 148 followed by a ninth-place finish at the Rattler Invitational. 

Second Team All-LSC

2018-19: Earned 2ndTeam All-Lone Star Conference Honors after helping the Lady Buffs to their first-ever conference title. Competed in all 12 events where she finished with a scoring average of 75.85. Her seven rounds of par or better were the second-most in program history.  Recorded four Top-5 finishes including a victory at the Mustang Intercollegiate with a 36-hole total of 143. Opened the season with a seventh-place finish at the Otter Fall Invite with a 36-hole total of. 151 followed by a pair of Top-30 finishes at the DBU Texas-Oklahoma Match Up and WT Fall Invitational. Recorded a 17thplace finish at the NCAA DII National Preview with a 36-hole total of 157. Finished the fall season with a runner-up finish at the Skyhawk Fall Intercollegiate after rounds of 71 and 72. Opened the spring season with a 37thplace finish at the Rattler Invitational followed by an 18thplace finish at El Cheapo Classic with rounds of 76 and 75. Was 15that the WT Desert Invite followed by a runner-up finish at the LSC Championships with a 36-hole total of 143 helping WT win their first-ever team title and record the lowest total team score. Also finished in a tie for second at the NCAA DII West Regionals at the Amarillo Country Club with a 56-hole total of 215 including a 2-under 69 in the second round. Finished 62ndat the NCAA Division II Championships with a 56-hole total of 247. 

2017-18: Holly overcame swing adjustments early in the season to finish the season with a bang.  She won the NCAA West Regional Championship, a first in WT history, firing rounds of 75, 76, 72. Holly’s score counted every round of the NCAA National Championship, propelling the Lady Buffs to a 7th place finish. 

WGCA All-American Honorable Mention
 
2016-17: Holly finished the season with a T9 finish in the NCAA DII National Championship, the highest finish of any Lady Buff Golfer in history, shooting 76, 77, 77, 77.  Placed in the top-10 in five events including the LSC Conference Championship.  Named to the Honorable Mention WGCA All American team. 

New Plymouth Girls School: Awarded the Stewart Cup for excellence in golf. Received honor award for winning the New Zealand Girls' Under 17 championship, while recording a runner-up finish in the U-19 national championship. She had a tournament scoring average of 75 playing college length tees. She aspires to play on the LPGA or European Tour after WT.

Personal: Born February 19, 1998. Parents are Michelle and Colin Winter. Has two sisters. Plans on majoring in agricultural business at WT.
