Biography

2010-11
Leven played in all 28 games for the Lady Buffs in 2010-11 and started in 20 of them, averaging 20.6 minutes per contest. She shot .412 from the field and .689 from the free-throw line while averaging 6.0 points a game. She pulled down 118 rebounds (48 offensive) and averaged 4.2 boards a game her junior season, while collecting 15 steals and posting a team-high 18 blocks. Leven registered a career-high 16 boards against Eastern New Mexico on Jan. 15, 2011, and then posted a career-high 14 points at Angelo State on Jan. 22.

2009-10
Leven started in two of the 33 games that she played in as a sophomore for the Lady Buffs. She averaged 4.4 points a game while converting 48.8% of her shots from the field. She grabbed a total of 97 rebounds to average 2.9 boards a game while averaging 13.0 minutes of playing time. She went 22-for-33 (66.7%) from the free-throw line, but did not attempt a shot from beyond the three-point arc. Leven recorded 16 assists, had 18 blocks and came away with 17 steals. She recorded season-highs against Eastern New Mexico, Chaminade and Howard Payne with 12-point games. She grabbed a season-high seven boards in the contest with ENMU.

2008-09
Leven saw action in all 34 of the Lady Buffs' games as a freshman forward. She recorded 62 field goals in 142 attempts for a 43.7% shooting clip. Leven averaged 4.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. She totaled 89 boards, pulling down 31 offensive rebounds and 58 defensive rebounds. Leven led the Lady Buffs in blocks, recording an impressive 36 total blocks. In the Lady Buffs' final game of the season, she tallied a career high of six blocks. Leven recorded double-digit points in several games, scoring 12 points on two occasions. She also tallied six rebounds in two outings. Her best statistical match was against Abilene Christian in the NCAA Regional tournament, where she posted six points, and was 3-5 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line. She also had an assist and two blocks in that game.

High School
Leven was a four-year letterwinner while playing the post position at Amarillo (Texas) High. Her senior year, she helped lead her team to a 31-6 record. She was selected to the all-District first team and named Athlete of the Week. She was also chosen to the all-tournament team in three tournaments during her senior season.

The daughter of Mark and Dana Nicklaus, Ashley has three siblings and is currently majoring in education.
