Biography
2010-11
Sherman started 19 of the 26 games she played in for the Lady Buffs in 2010-11. The junior averaged 6.5 points and 3.2 rebounds a game. She shot .473 from the field, which included a .318 percentage from beyond the three-point line and was .714 from the charity stripe. She scored a career-high 15 points at Incarnate Word on Jan. 12, 2011, but Sherman was most known for her defensive presence. In that same contest at UIW, she tallied a season-high five steals on the evening as well. Sherman led the team with 51 steals on her way to being named the Lone Star Conference South Division’s Defensive Player of the Year. She was also named to the all-LSC South Division Second Team as well.
2009-10
Sherman saw action in all 34 of the Lady Buffs' contests in her first season at WT. The transfer-sophomore averaged 3.2 points a game as well as 2.1 boards a contest while averaging 15.9 minutes of playing time. She shot 47.1% from the field, which included a 5-for15 (33.3%) performance from downtown. She dished out 50 assists on the season and had 35 steals to go along with 10 blocked shots. Sherman scored a season-high nine points and grabbed five rebounds against Chaminade in the team's trip to Hawai'i.
Previous School
Sherman played basketball at the University of Central Arkansas under head coach Matt Daniel before transferring to WT. An all-around athlete, she played both the guard and the post positions for the Bears.
High School
Under head coach Brad Floyd at Mt. Vernon High in Mt. Vernon, Texas, Sherman helped her team to a 27-7 finish and a regional final in her senior season. She was named the offensive player of the year, was an all-State selection, and was the MVP of the North/South all-star game as a senior. In her junior year, she was again named the offensive player of the year. In both her freshman and sophomore campaigns, she garnered defensive player of the year accolades. Sherman lettered in volleyball and track all four years of high school. In track, she qualified for the regional meet in five events every year.
Personal
Sherman is the daughter of Larry and Staci Sherman of Lavon, Texas. She has an older sister, Linza and is currently majoring in sports and exercise sciences with a minor in special education.
