High School: Najera graduated from Del Valle (Texas) High School in 2010, playing in the midfield for the Conquistadors under the guidance of head coach B.A. Reichman. He was an All-District performer as a senior and All-City as a junior.

Personal: Najera is the son of Francisco and Irma Najera and he has one sibling, Edwin. He is an Accounting major at West Texas a&M.
