Biography
General: Kachel brings a strong background and record setting goals to the Buffs.
Previous College: Kachel graduated from Garden City Community College in Garden City, KS, with a degree in biology. He ran for coach Dan Delgado and was recognized as an Academic All American. He finished sixth in the nation his freshman year and was recognized as an Academic National Champion.
High School: Kachel attended Hooker High where he ran for coach Stan Kachel. He was All-State in cross country and track, where he ran the 5K in 17:29 and the 800M in 2:00. Kachel was a state champion in 4x800 and placed third in the 800M. He was a state runner-up in team cross country. He was on the Academic State Champion Team in cross country and a member of the National Honor Society. Kachel lettered twice in basketball.
