GENERAL: This hard hitting local product displayed his abilities as a true playmaker at inside linebacker a year ago and will be a key contributor to the Buffs[apos] defensive unit in 2009.
2008: Scott saw starting duty as an inside linebacker in 10 of 13 contests, and ranked fifth among all Buffalo defenders in total tackles, with 47 (25 solo, 22 assisted). He was involved in 6.5 TFLs for minus-26 yards and recorded one sack for minus-six yards. He enjoyed a season-best nine tackle performance against Abilene Christian, posted seven tackles (including two TFLs) against Central Washington, logged six takedowns against both Southwestern Oklahoma as well as at Texas A&M-Kingsville and recorded five tackles against both Azusa Pacific as well as Northeastern Oklahoma. His three forced fumbles was a team-high, while also recovering two fumbles, breaking up one pass and forcing one QB hurry.
2007: As a true freshman, Scott saw action in all 13 contests, registering 46 tackles (11 solo, 35 assisted), with five-and-a-half tackles for minus-13 yards in losses. He was also involved in an assisted sack for another five yard loss. Scott enjoyed an eight tackle (one solo, seven assisted) outing against South Dakota, registered six tackles (six assisted) against Washburn and had a pair of five takedown performances (Eastern New Mexico, Central Oklahoma).
HIGH SCHOOL: Scott was a two-way performer for Amarillo (Texas) Tascosa HS, rushing for over 1,500 yards as a senior and helping lead the Rebels to their first playoff victory since 1968. He was selected as a second team all-State linebacker and was also selected as second team all-State as a junior. Additionally, he was named the Amarillo Globe News Super Team Defensive Player of the Year.
