Biography

Major: Equine Industry and Business

Years Riding: "I’ve been riding since I was nine years old.  I started taking lessons and riding any horse that I could. I always remember a quote made by Stacy Westfall that I read in a magazine.  She said that the best advice she could give to young aspiring riders was to ride as many different horses as possible to get experience. I took this to heart and never turned down a ride on anything. Since then I have worked for several trainers in Illinois, Missouri and Texas working my way up in the industry. I now enjoy riding, reining and working cowhorses and hope to start my young horse heeling as well."

What brought her to WT: "I transferred to WT after taking a semester off to work for Tom McCutcheon. This school is a great fit both financially but academically as well. The competitive teams associated with the agriculture department are also some of the most prestigious in the nation."

What made her join the team: "This is my final year to be eligible to show for the IHSA and I wanted to show as much as I could. I have also be privileged to be chosen to show in the reining as well which is one of my passions. I love spending time with the diverse group of ladies (and Will!) and it has made me more determined than ever to become a better rider and person and represent West Texas A&M."
