West Texas A&M University Athletics

Junior College: Valerio attended New Mexico JC (New Mexico) and played in the outfield for head coaches Josh Simpson and current WT assistant coach Cory Hall. He was named All-Conference as a freshman while at NMJC and was a member of the All-Star team. He was a threat on the bases for the T-Birds, stealing 62 bases in two seasons.

High School: Valerio graduated from Christ The King HS (New York) in 2007, playing shortstop for the Royals under head coach Allen Watson. He was named All-Queens as a sophomore, junior and a senior as well as All-Northeast as a junior and a senior. He was a three year letterman on the basketball court, winning the Catholic School Championship as a freshman.

Major: Valerio is a Sports & Exercise Science major at West Texas A&M.

Personal: Valerio is the son of Jose and Orfelina Valerio and has three siblings: Elvis, Steven and Alex.
