"Pistol" Pete Pedro was a remarkable student-athlete and friend to so many during his time at West Texas A&M, his ability on the field was nothing less than captivating. He will always be one of our most notable and beloved alumni, which is why his friends and teammates have joined together to create a scholarship in his honor.
The Pistol Pete Memorial Scholarship was born out the hope that future football players would follow suit in the great legacy that Pete left here at WT, making their own mark on this university.
Each year, this endowed scholarship will provide financial assistance to one current member of the WT football team. Initial gifts have been made by Wayne Fox, David Sims, Corky Dawson, John David Bryant and Jerry Don Logan.
These founders of the scholarship want to allow an opportunity for any alumni or fan to make a gift of their own, in remembrance of the great many occasions Pete gave us reason to cheer.
