What is Run Buff?
Don’t worry…everyone participating will have clothes on. Run Buff is a WT Athletic event designed to promote family fun and fitness as well as overall health and wellness. We want to encourage the community to be active and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Who does this event benefit? Who are the sponsors of the event?
Run Buff is an event designed to help raise funds for the WT student-athlete scholarship fund. Our partners include Amarillo National Bank, Wendy’s, Rabern Rentals, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Parker Sports Medicine, and Russell Athletics.
Fun Run? What makes this run SO fun?
The one mile fun run is designed to get kids actively engaged in fitness while interacting with the WT student-athletes. The kids will complete the one mile around the sports park on the running trail. There will be stops along the way at fitness stations to complete challenges with student-athletes. The one mile run will end with a finish line of bubbles. All 5K participants will enjoy a tour of campus as they run and will finish on the WT track! Convinced you should sign up? How much does it cost and when is the deadline for registration?
Pre-registration prices are

Race day registration forms may be completed beginning at 3:30PM at the WT Track – please enter through the west side gates at the track.

Do I have to fill out a registration form for my children too?
All race participants need to complete a registration form to ensure entrance into the race and a participants bag (trust me, you want this! - there is a cool t-shirt and other goodies inside). It’s totally worth the time it takes to fill out the form!
Race Day Need to Knows
Where is the event?
The race will start at the Buffalo Sports Park ending on the competition track. Come pick up your packet at the WT track (enter through the west gate). Still not sure where to go? Look for the bright orange and yellow “event staff” shirts…they’ll point you in the right direction (trust me…you can’t miss them).
Where should I park?
The Virgil Henson Activity Center parking lot and the east lot near the softball field will be open on event day. It will also be staffed with handy people in the orange and yellow shirts to point you in the direction of the track.
What should I bring?
We would like to see all participants in their favorite WT shirt! Sunglasses, sunscreen, cameras, and cash are also good accessories. We will have plenty of water and food for you after the race. Bring a blanket and hang out with our WT athletic family.
What time does the event start?
3:30PM race day registration & packet pickup
4:30PM 1 mile
5:00PM 5K
5:30PM FAMILY FUN ACTIVITIES BEGIN!
What am I supposed to do with my kids if I want to run the 5K?
Let them hang out with WT student-athletes, coaches, and athletic administrators. All games and activities will take place inside the fenced area at the WT track. All children will be given security bands to wear with numbers that correspond with their parents. We have plenty of activities planned to keep them entertained while you run. Don’t sweat it…they will be well taken care of.
Where will I be running?
On your 5K run enjoy a tour of the WT campus. After packet pick up at the WT track, the runners will be lead to the starting area, which is near the softball field. There will be a tour through campus, a loop around the museum and the First United Bank Center before returning back to the Sports Complex. The contestants will be finishing on the WT track!
What happens after we run?
The real fun begins at the finish line! Post race activities include game stations with student-athletes, tons of giveaways, music, jump houses, face painting, food, a silent auction, and some really cool merchandise booths. Be sure to visit the Amarillo National Bank tent for a chance to win a bicycle!

Race results will be posted near the concession stand area as well as online at gobuffsgo.com.
