CANYON, Texas – The #25 Lady Buffs led for the majority of the first set before unbeaten #5 Ferris State battled back to claim a straight-set sweep (22-25, 10-25, 19-25) on Friday night to conclude the opening day of the Colorado Premier Challenge in Denver.

The Lady Buffs had 26 kills on 102 swings with 23 attack errors to hit .029 as a team with two aces, 25 assists, 38 digs and four total blocks. Ferris State proved their offensive firepower with a team attack percentage of .303 as they had 43 kills and 13 errors on 99 swings to go along with four aces, 39 assists, 11 blocks and 44 digs.

Kaycee Cavanaugh led the West Texas A&M offense, finishing the night with nine kills on 27 swings with five errors to hit .148 with two assists and 11 digs for another double-double.
Casey Loewer and
Hannah Pemberton combined for 21 assists while Pemberton also added eight digs in the back row.

The Lady Buffs finish second in Pool 2 as they move into the silver bracket where they will face off with longtime rival #25 Central Missouri on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. CT inside of the Auraria Event Center on the campus of MSU Denver.
