CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs used extended scoring runs including a 10-point swing in the opening set on Friday night as they topped the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps (25-19, 25-23, 25-22) to conclude the Lone Star Conference Challenge at the Junell Center in San Angelo, Texas.

WT finished the match with 43 kills on 128 swings with 24 attack errors to hit .148 as a team with 41 assists, three aces, 11 blocks and 62 digs. Lubbock Christian had a team attack percentage of .017 with 25 kills on 117 attempts and 23 errors along with 24 assists, five aces, five blocks and 54 digs.

Skyler Massey put together an impressive match as the freshman had 15 kills on 37 swings to hit .216 on the night with three digs and a block.
Kaycee Cavanaugh contributed eight kills and a team-high 20 digs while
Casey Loewer had seven kills, eight assists and 11 digs.

The Lady Buffs open LSC play next weekend at The Box as they host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Friday night followed by a Saturday matchup with Texas A&M International in Canyon.Â
