CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M struggled with offensive consistency on Friday night during the Lone Star Conference opener as the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas left the WTAMU Fieldhouse with a five-set win over the Lady Buffs (25-16, 22-25, 25-13, 20-25, 6-15).

The Lady Buffs had 58 kills on 151 swings with 39 errors for a team attack percentage of .126 to go along with 58 assists, four aces, 12 blocks and 66 digs. Texas A&M-Kingsville finished the match with an attack percentage of .125 as they had 44 kills on 144 attempts and 26 errors with 43 assists, five aces, 13 blocks and 46 digs.

Kaycee Cavanaugh led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the junior had 18 kills on 46 swings with 13 attack errors to hit .109 on the night with 16 digs, two blocks, one ace and four assists.
Skyler Massey continued her impressive freshman campaign as the Portales product had 15 kills,
Hannah Pemberton dished out a team-best 24 assists to go along with nine digs to finish just shy of a double-double.

The Lady Buffs return to the court tomorrow afternoon as they host the Texas A&M International Dustdevils with first serve set for 2:00 p.m. in Canyon.
