CANYON, Texas – The #19 Lady Buffs showed resilience on Saturday afternoon as they battled back to claim a five-set win over the Adams State Grizzlies before falling to Oklahoma Baptist in four sets to conclude the BritKare Lady Buff Classic at The Box in Canyon.

The Lady Buffs hit the road for the first time as they make their way to Pueblo, Colorado on Wednesday night for a regional battle with CSU Pueblo starting at 7:00 p.m. CT. WT will remain in the Centennial State over the weekend as they take part in the historic Colorado Premiere Challenge.

West Texas A&M 3, Adams State 2
The Lady Buffs played their second five-setter in as many days on Saturday afternoon as they battled back to pick up a regional victory over the Adams State Grizzlies (25-17, 27-29, 18-25, 25-21, 15-3) in Canyon.

WT finished the match with 65 kills on 156 swings with 23 attack errors to hit .269 as a team with seven aces, 10 blocks, 60 assists and 62 digs. The Grizzlies had 24 errors on their 175 attempts to hit .217 as a team with five aces, seven blocks, 61 assists and 49 digs in the loss.

Kaycee Cavanaugh led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the junior had 13 kills on 40 swings to go along with five assists and 11 digs for a double-double while
Anna Ruter tallied 13 kills with an attack percentage of .417.
Avery Ramos paced the WT defense with 23 digs while
Hannah Pemberton and
Casey Loewer combined for 49 assists.

Oklahoma Baptist 3, West Texas A&M 1
Oklahoma Baptist dominated at the service line on Saturday night as the Bison had eight aces on their way to a four-set win over the Lady Buffs at The Box.

The Lady Buffs struggled offensively as they had 23 attack errors on 131 swings with 36 kills for an attack percentage of .099 to go along with three aces, 13 blocks, 34 assists and 57 digs. The Bison registered 52 kills on 153 attempts with 32 errors to hit .131 as a team with nine blocks, 46 assists and 60 digs.

Cavanaugh tallied 12 kills on 38 swings with four attack errors to hit .211 on the night to go along with two blocks and nine digs to finish just shy of a double-double. Pemberton and Loewer dished out 15 assists each with Pemberton also tallying 13 digs in the back row, Ramos led the Lady Buffs with 14 digs to go along with three assists.
