Lady Buffs Tabbed 19th in the AVCA Division II Preseason Poll

CANYON, Texas –
 The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs have been tabbed 19th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association/Taraflex Division II Preseason Coaches' Poll announced on Monday afternoon.
 
2025 saw the Lady Buffs make the program's 32nd appearance in the NCAA Division II Volleyball postseason as they advanced to the South Central Regional Semifinals with an overall record of 23-8. Terry Gamble became the sixth head coach in WT history to lead the Lady Buffs to the NCAA Tournament during their inaugural season at the helm.
 
Concordia St. Paul picked up 18 of the possible 47 first place votes for a total of 1,142 points to sit atop of the poll followed by Tampa (10 first place, 1,108) and defending National Champion MSU Denver in third (18 first place, 987). Point Loma sits fourth followed by St. Cloud State, Barry, Nebraska-Kearney, Washburn, Wayne State and Ferris State to round out the top ten.
 
The South Central Region was represented by MSU Denver (3rd), West Texas A&M (19th), Angelo State (21st), UCCS (RV), Colorado School of Mines (RV), Colorado Mesa (RV) and DBU (RV). The 2026 WT schedule features six contests against teams inside the Top 25 or receiving votes in the preseason poll.
 
West Texas A&M opens their season next weekend at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon as they host the BritKare Lady Buff Classic.
