CANYON, TEXAS – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes are headed to the program's third consecutive NCAA Division II Championships following a second-place finish at the South Central/West Regional Championships at The Reserve at Spanos Park (Par 72 – 7,082 Yards) in Stockton, California.
Victor Estas and
Jack Lankford led the way for the Buffaloes, tying for fourth place with a 213 (-3).
The Buffs shot rounds of 284, 281 and 294 for a team total of 859 (-5). WT led the 20-team field in par-three scoring (3.10) as they finished the 56-hole event with three eagles, 46 birdies and 170 pars.
Western Washington won the Regional Championship with a team score of 856 (-8) for a three-stroke win over the Buffs. Cal State East Bay finished third followed by Colorado Christian, Cal State San Marcos and Cal State San Bernardino.
The West/South Central Region was allocated six spots at the National Championships due to three of the region's squad advancing to medal match play in 2025.
Conrad Brown of Western Washington shot a 206 (-10) to win the Regional Title by a stroke over CSUSM's Liam Weaver and Bradley Miller of Colorado Christian. Archie Wyatt of CSU Pueblo and Dylan Bercan of Hawaii-Hilo will represent the region at the National Championships as the top two individuals outside of the advancing teams.
The Buffs turn their attention to the final tournament of the season on May 18-22 as they travel to Boulder City, Nevada for the NCAA Division II Championships hosted at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
