CANYON, Texas – The #6 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M claimed a pair of Top-25 wins over rival #13 Angelo State on Saturday afternoon, running their win streak to 10 games while clinching the program's sixth Lone Star Conference regular season tile at Schaeffer Park in Canyon.

The Lady Buffs close out the regular season on Sunday afternoon with doubleheader action set for 1:00 p.m. against UT Permian Basin.

Game 1 – West Texas A&M 7, Angelo State 5
The Belles jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning with a Tatiana Trotter doubled to the gap in left center to score Karli Manney at 1-0. The powerful WT offense wasted little time responding in the bottom of the frame as
Bella Holland and
Jordyn De Los Santos connected on back-to-back homeruns for the 2-1 lead.

Angelo State retook the lead in the top of the third inning on a Trotter two-run homer over the scoreboard in center to make it 3-2. WT responded in the bottom of the fourth inning as they capitalized on an ASU defensive miscue to tie the game followed later in the frame by an
Abby Howell two-run single and a
Cadence Colborn two-run homer to right for the 7-3 lead.

The Belles cut into the lead in the top of the fifth with a Greysen Collins RBI double to left field that plated Trotter. ASU wouldn't go down without a fight in the top of the seventh on an Ashleigh Dendas solo shot to left field with one out to make it 7-5.

Brooke Janning claimed the win (21-2) for the Lady Buffs, allowing five earned runs on 10 hits with two walks and five strikeouts in the complete game victory.

Game 2 – West Texas A&M 10, Angelo State 2 (5 Innings)
Angelo State took the early lead in the nightcap as Trotter connected on a two-run homerun to right for the 2-0 lead. The Lady Buffs cut into the lead in the bottom of the frame on a
Trinity Kuntz RBI single to right that scored Holland at 2-1. The Lady Buffs tied the game in the home half of the second inning on a
Mya Chacon RBI single up the middle to score Janning at 2-2.

WT took their first lead of the nightcap in the bottom of the fourth as Janning lifted a solo homerun to right field followed later in the frame by a
Heaven Moreno single to score
Kendall Luna de la Fuente at 4-2, De Los Santos drove in a pair with a single up the middle later in the frame followed by a Kuntz two-run double for the 8-2 lead.

The Lady Buffs would end the game early in the home half of the fifth inning on a Holland walkoff two-run homer to left field for the 10-2 win.

Reagan Sucher claimed the win (4-0) in the circle, allowing no runs on just two hits with no walks and a pair of strikeouts in her three innings of relief.
