Brown and Staff Add Ben Walton for the 2026-27 Campaign

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M head men's basketball coach Tom Brown has announced the addition of Las Cruces, New Mexico standout Ben Walton for the 2026-27 season.
 
"We are excited to welcome Ben Walton to the program. He is a team player that wants to win!" said Coach Brown "He is a great young man with a bright future at West Texas A&M."
 
The 6'5 guard joins the Buffs following a stellar high school career at Las Cruces High School where he earned District 3-5A honors this past season guiding the Bulldawgs to the NMAA Class 5A State Quarterfinals. Walton averaged 14 points, six rebounds and five assists per game during his senior campaign.  
 
"I am super excited for Ben to join the West Texas A&M program. Ben is a tough minded, hardworking player that will continue to blossom at WT under Coach Brown's tutelage. Go Buffs!" said Billy Keys, player development coach.
