CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes got back to their winning ways on Saturday afternoon as they picked up a pair of Lone Star Conference victories over the Texas A&M International Dustdevils at Wilder Park in Canyon, Texas.

The Buffs close out their regular season home schedule tomorrow afternoon with first pitch scheduled for Noon on Senior Day.

Game 1 – West Texas A&M 5, Texas A&M International 3
The Buffs got on the board in the home half of the first inning as
Tristin Thomas lifted a sac fly to left center with one out to score
Jake Alwine for the 1-0 lead. TAMIU tied things up in the top of the second with a Jesus Sosa RBI single to right at 1-1.

WT retook the lead in the bottom of the third inning when Thomas drove in his second run of the game with a single up the middle that plated
Jacob Police for the 2-1 lead. The Dustdevils responded in the top of the fourth on a Ciro Benavides two-run single to center to make it 3-2.

West Texas A&M tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning on a
Zac Rackham single to left field with one out that plated
Jonluke Hobdy followed later in the frame by an Alwine single up the middle to score
Anthony Picciano.
Timothy Haynes drew a four-pitch walk to push across
Brock Bunker for the 5-3 lead.

Cade Griffin claimed the win (8-3) for the Buffs, allowing three earned runs on 11 hits with two walks and a pair of strikeouts in the complete game victory.

Game 2 – West Texas A&M 10, Texas A&M International 2
The Buffs struck first in the nightcap in the bottom of the second inning on a
Daniel Castellanos sac fly to center field with one out as Thomas tagged up to make it 1-0. The Dustdevils responded in the top of the third with an Eddie Saenz two-run double off the left field wall for the 2-1 lead.

WT retook the lead in the home half of the third inning all with two outs as Police singled up the middle to score Picciano followed by a Haynes RBI double to the gap in right center, Thomas continued his hot day at the plate with a single thru the right side to push across Haynes for the 4-2 lead.

The Buffs added insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth as Haynes walked with the bases loaded followed by a Thomas three-run triple to the wall in right center, Picciano would lift a sac fly to left that scored
Will Franklin followed by an Alwine walk with the bases loaded to make it 10-2.

Nick Yeager picked up the win (2-4) for the Buffs, allowing two earned runs on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts in his 5.0 innings of work.
