#8 West Texas A&M Wins Twice on Sunday in Chattanooga

CANYON, Texas – The #8 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M picked up a pair of victories on Sunday afternoon over UAH and Lee to conclude the 2026 Chattanooga Invitational at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Lady Buffs begin the defense of their Lone Star Conference Championship next weekend as they travel to Portales, New Mexico for a Saturday doubleheader against the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds beginning at 2:00 p.m. CT.

#8 West Texas A&M 8, Alabama-Huntsville 3
WT began strong with Jordyn De Los Santos doubling to deep left field in the first inning. However, the team was unable to convert the early opportunity into runs, leaving one on base. UAH matched in the first inning, getting a runner to third, but the Lady Buffs' defense held firm, ending the inning scoreless.

In the third inning, the Lady Buffs broke the stalemate with a six-run surge. Avery Cannon doubled to deep left, followed by a critical two-RBI single by Abby Howell, bringing in Cannon and Bella Holland. Emily Liskai then delivered a pivotal triple to right field, scoring three more. An ensuing throwing error allowed Liskai to score, capping the explosive inning with a 6-0 lead. UAH responded in the bottom of the third with a two-RBI triple by Jill Cockrell, followed by a sacrifice fly that cut the lead to 6-3.

The game settled until the seventh inning when the Lady Buffs added insurance runs. Howell singled and Cadence Colborn walked, setting the stage for Liskai once again. Liskai singled to left field, driving in two more runs and extending the lead to 8-3. UAH threatened in the bottom of the seventh, but a double play ended their hopes for a comeback.

Brooke Janning picked up the win (5-1) in the circle, allowing three earned runs on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts in the complete game performance.

#8 West Texas A&M 7, Lee 3
The Lady Buffs secured a strong start in the first inning against Lee with Bella Holland's solo home run to left center, putting an early mark on the scoreboard. This was followed by Jordyn De Los Santos doubling down the left field line, setting the stage for Emily Liskai to deliver a two-RBI single, scoring De Los Santos and Cadence Colborn.

In the second inning, the Lady Buffs continued to build momentum. Lily Mulder, pinch-running, scored on a single by Holland, who later stole second. De Los Santos then added to her performance with a two-RBI double, bringing home Avery Cannon and Holland.

The third inning saw Lee's Sadie Winsett triple to right center, driving in a run and narrowing the gap. However, the defensive effort from the Lady Buffs limited further damage, ending the inning with a 7–1 lead. The WT defense held firm in the fourth and fifth innings, allowing no runs from Lee. Despite opportunities at the plate, the Lady Buffs were unable to extend their lead, maintaining a 7–1 advantage through the fifth.

Lee attempted a late rally in the seventh inning, with Madison Pinzon and Eva Armstrong each contributing RBIs, bringing the score closer. However, the Lady Buffs' pitching change to Tessia Guzman helped secure the win, as they closed out the inning with a final score of 7–3.

Reagan Sucher claimed the win (1-0) for the Lady Buffs, allowing two earned runs on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts in her 3.2 frames of relief.
