CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Kara Holm shot a 73 (+1) during Tuesday's final round to finish tied for 16^th at The Southern Invite hosted by Central Oklahoma at Cypresswood Golf Club (Par 72 – 6,058 Yards) in Spring, Texas.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the tournament with 10 birdies along with two eagles and 151 pars as they finished with a 923 (+59) for a ninth-place finish on the team leaderboard. 
 
Holm carded rounds of 75, 79 and 73 for a +11 (227) as she tallied four birdies along with an eagle in the first and third round to finish tied with the best par-five scoring average (4.75) among the 80 competitors. 
 
UT Tyler won the team crown with a total score of 882 (+18) to claim a 14-stroke victory over LSC rival Dallas Baptist (+32, 896) followed by St. Mary's (907), Rogers State (908) and Midwestern State (909) to round out the top five.
 
Lucy Kate Smith of UT Tyler shot rounds of 72, 72 and 74 for a +2 (218) to win the individual title by two strokes over Central Oklahoma's Estela Castillo (+4, 220).
 
The Lady Buffs return to the course on March 8-9 as they travel to Destin, Florida to take part in the Emerald Coast Classic hosted by Missouri-St. Louis at Baytowne Golf Club.
