Turk Ozturk picked up his first victory as head coach of the Lady Buffs on Thursday night as WT scored a pair of second half goals for a 2-1 victory over the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls.

The Cowgirls struck first early in the opening half on a Ninon Regal strike to the upper corner of the net for the 1-0 lead. The Lady Buffs responded right after halftime as
Lawrencia Yeboah beat the keeper right in front of the net to make it 1-1.

Alair Posard scored the game winner less than four minutes later as
Aaliyah McPeak sent a ball right in front of the net that Posard finished in the upper left corner to make it 2-1.

Franciezca Blancaflor was impressive in goal in her first career game in Maroon & White as the junior from Salado, Texas registered six saves on 12 shots faced.Â

The Lady Buffs open their home schedule on Saturday afternoon as they host the Adams State Grizzlies starting at 11:00 a.m. at The Pitch in Canyon.
