CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M picked up a Top-25 sweep over rival #13 Angelo State on Saturday afternoon during Lone Star Conference crossover action as the #10 Lady Buffs (25-18, 25-17, 25-20) remained unbeaten at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon.

WT opened the first set with a series of errors, allowing Angelo State to take an early lead at 3-0. However, a pivotal moment came when
Kaycee Cavanaugh's kill and a block by
Currie Marusak and
Taytum Stow sparked a comeback, leveling the score at 7-7. Subsequently, a strong service rotation by
Landri Jay and consistent offensive contributions by Cavanaugh, including a kill to make it 19-15, propelled the Lady Buffs to a decisive 25-18 victory to close the set.

The Lady Buffs showcased a strong performance in the second set, turning a narrow contest into a decisive result. Cavanaugh and Marusak spearheaded the offensive effort, with Marusak contributing multiple key kills, including a crucial one at 19-16, to maintain the lead. WT capitalized on a series of Angelo State errors, coupled with effective assists from
Hannah Pemberton, to secure a 25-17 victory in the set.

The third set began with a quick point for the home team, as
Parker Gladhill and
Emma Becker combined for a block against Julia Hopkins of Angelo State. Despite an early 5-1 deficit, the Lady Buffs mounted a comeback effort led by Cavanaugh's consistent scoring to tie the game at 7-7. Marusak remained a pivotal contributor, recording multiple kills from
Bromli Watson's assists, including a decisive stretch that pushed the home team ahead. WT secured the set 25-20 as Marusak delivered the final blow with a well-placed attack, capitalizing on a series of Angelo State errors to close the set.

Currie Marusak added 11 kills and recorded six digs, demonstrating versatility on both offense and defense.
Taytum Stow was formidable at the net, tallying six total blocks and adding seven kills with a .462 hitting percentage.
Hannah Pemberton facilitated the offense with 13 assists and also contributed seven digs from the back row.
