CANYON, Texas – The #5 Lady Buffs swept past Adams State in straight sets, 25-17, 25-21, 25-19, on Wednesday night at Plachy Hall in Alamosa, Colorado.

WT seized momentum early in the first set with a determined surge, highlighted by
Bromli Watson's crucial playmaking, delivering multiple assists that facilitated points for
Sharlotte McClintock and
Emma Becker. A pivotal stretch saw Watson assisting
Currie Marusak for several key kills, helping the team break an 8-8 tie and gain a 16-12 lead, supported by
Taytum Stow's defensive blocks. Despite Adams State's attempts to rally, the Lady Buffs maintained their advantage, closing the set with a decisive 25-17 victory as Watson's consistent setting led to
Kael Wilcox's final points.

The second set began with the Lady Buffs taking advantage of a service error by Peyton Priddy, putting them on the board first. Marusak and Stow emerged as key players, with Marusak securing multiple kills, including a notable one at a 6-5 lead that started a decisive run. A series of blocking efforts by Wilcox and Becker helped extend the lead, culminating in a 25-21 victory for WT, despite a late rally attempt from Adams State.

In the third set, the Lady Buffs showcased a strong performance, highlighted by a series of decisive plays. Becker delivered pivotal kills, contributing significantly to the team's offensive efforts, including a kill at 21-17 that widened the gap. Stow and Watson were instrumental at the net, with Stow's block in the early stages helping establish a lead. Marusak added to the momentum with crucial kills, including one at 18-13, to maintain the team's advantage. The Lady Buffs secured the set 25-19, capitalizing on several attack errors by Adams State, particularly in the later stages.

Marusak led the Lady Buffs with 15 kills and added a solo block, totaling 16 points. Stow recorded an impressive eight blocks and contributed nine kills, earning 15 points overall. Becker added 11 kills and secured 13 digs, finishing with 12.5 points. Watson facilitated the offense with 33 assists while also digging up 11 balls.

Hadleigh Richardson led Adams State with 16 points across three sets, contributing significantly with 16 kills on 37 total attacks. Olivia Lunt followed closely, amassing 13.5 points with 13 kills and a hitting percentage of .258 over three sets. Katie Bauer stood out defensively, recording five total blocks, including one solo block, providing a solid presence at the net.
