NFCA All-Region Teams

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – On Thursday, five West Texas A&M softball players earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region honors as announced by the organization's headquarters. Of the five honorees, two Lady Buffs earned first team awards while the other three earned spots on the NFCA's second team.

Emilee Boyer and
Lauren Granger represented WT on the first team which is comprised of 13 members. The second team features 26 more members with
Cadence Colborn,
Emily Liskai, and
Heidi Vortherms earning the All-Region nod.

Boyer, a utility player and pitcher, posted a .477 batting average with 11 doubles, two triples, and 21 home runs while driving in 89 and scoring 56. Her offensive numbers rank inside the top 10 of multiple NCAA Division II categories including leading the nation in RBIs and slugging percentage. The Harrisburg, S.D. native holds a 26-4 record with a 2.18 ERA and 227 strikeouts over 166.2 innings of work. Boyer has accounted for two saves, 12 complete games, and four shutouts on the season thus far. Granger joined Boyer on the first team after posting a .431 batting average with 54 runs scored, 15 doubles, seven triples, 16 home runs and 46 RBIs out of the Lady Buffs' leadoff spot.

The Lady Buffs advance to Friday's 12 p.m. winner's bracket game against No. 3 seed and No. 8-nationally Angelo State after today's 9-4 win over No. 7 seed Lubbock Christian.
