LAREDO, Texas – The West Texas A&M pitching staff didn't allow a run on Sunday as the Lady Buffs swept the Texas A&M International Dustdevils. Emilee Boyer proved to be the difference in the 2-0 win.
The Lady Buffs improve to 14-2 in Lone Star Conference play and 24-2 overall on the year while TAMIU falls to 14-13 overall and 8-8 in conference action.
WT continues its stretch of games away from Schaeffer Park on Friday, March 14 at Sul Ross State. The Lady Buffs are set to take on the Lobos at 5 p.m. in Alpine.

After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Buffs scored three in the top of the second. A single from
Heaven Moreno followed by a hit-by-pitch put runners on where a fielder's choice erased a runner and put an out on the board. With two outs in the inning, an error scored a run and kept the Lady Buffs at the plate. The Dustdevils error proved to be costly as
Lauren Granger ripped a double down the left field line to clear the bases and give WT a 3-0 lead.
The Lady Buffs exploded for seven runs in the top of the fifth to bring in the run rule. An
Emily Liskai walk started the inning followed by an error to put Granger on base. An infield single from
Kiley Avery loaded the bases where
Abby Howell recorded an RBI groundout. Boyer loaded the bases once again with a bunt single followed by a single off the wall from
Cadence Colborn to score a pair. Moreno recorded an RBIs of her own as the junior doubled in Boyer from second. With two on and two out,
Halie Stoneking blasted a three-run home run to left field, bringing the Lady Buffs' lead up to 10-0.

Game two proved to be a pitcher's duel with neither squad able to find the scoreboard in the first five innings. WT would score first in the top of the sixth when a leadoff single from Granger moved into scoring position on Avery's sacrifice bunt. A popout would put the Dustdevils on two outs, but
Emilee Boyer launched her 10
th home run of the season to give the Lady Buffs a 2-0 lead.
Now with a two-run lead,
Kendall Selitzky settled back in retiring the next six TAMIU hitters in a row. Selitzky recorded her third win of the season in the circle and her first complete game and shutout as a Lady Buff.
