Kanyon Ives and
RJ Martinez were honored for their efforts on the gridiron on Thursday afternoon as the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association announced their annual Super Region 4 All-Region teams. The pair of Buffs were selected Second Team All-Region.
Ives anchored the West Texas A&M offensive line that produced one of the top fronts in all of NCAA Division II football. The junior from Denison, Texas started all 11 games as the Buffs registered the top passing offense in the nation with 352.9 yards per contest while allowing the 13
th fewest sacks (0.91/game) in the country. WT tallied 283 offensive first downs to rank eighth nationally while the offensive line allowed just 4.27 tackles for loss per game, ranking 19
th. Ives earned All-Lone Star Conference First Team accolades.
Martinez put together one of the best offensive seasons in West Texas A&M history as the Harlon Hill candidate completed 283-of-431 passes for 3,715 yards and 33 touchdowns to go along with 281 rushing yards and seven scores. The Austin native leads all of DII Football in passing yards (3,715), passing yards per game (337.7) and total offense (363.3). Martinez was named the LSC Offensive Back of the Year as well as a member of the All-LSC First Team.
The Buffs close out their season on Saturday afternoon as they take on Arkansas Tech in the 2025 Heritage Bowl Powered by Riot in Corsicana, Texas with kickoff set for 12:00 p.m.
