D'Jonte Davis scored the game winning goal with just over six minutes to play on Saturday afternoon as the Buffaloes picked up a 2-1 Lone Star Conference win over the Patriots of UT Tyler at Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex in Tyler, Texas.

WT and UT Tyler played a scoreless first half, with both teams generating multiple scoring opportunities.
Desire Essis and
D'Jonte Davis had early attempts that went wide, while UT Tyler's Angel Benitez also missed a shot high. A pivotal moment came in the 37th minute when UT Tyler's Oscar Sosa missed a penalty kick, saved by
Bryce Cottle. The half ended with several shots from
Connor Duggan and
Sharif Mohammed, including a Duggan shot that hit the top woodwork, but neither team managed to break the deadlock.

UT Tyler struck first in the second half when Henrique Caputo scored in the 54th minute, assisted by Jaxson Stovall. The Buffs responded quickly, equalizing in the 69th minute with a penalty kick goal from
Ben Scotford. The visiting team then seized the lead in the 84th minute on a goal by Davis. The Buffs secured a 2-1 victory despite UT Tyler's persistent attacks, including multiple shots on goal saved by Cottle.
