CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M surrendered a pair of second half goals on Saturday afternoon as the Patriots of UT Tyler left The Pitch in Canyon with a 2-0 shutout victory in Lone Star Conference action.

The first half opened with WT asserting early offensive pressure.
Jezmin Castellanos Reyes and
Michelle Velasco each took shots, with Velasco's attempt narrowly missing the target.
Franciezca Blancaflor demonstrated strong defensive presence, stopping multiple shots, including a penalty kick by UT Tyler's Natalie Jones in the 43rd minute. The Lady Buffs maintained a stable defense, responding to UT Tyler's attacks while also earning several corner kicks. The half closed with both teams at a stalemate, ending with a 0-0 scoreline.

The second half began with WT pushing forward as
Reese Frericks took an early shot that went wide, setting the tone for their attacking intent. Despite the pressure, UT Tyler's defense held firm, and in the 75th minute, Natalie Jones broke the deadlock with a goal, assisted by Marin Love, putting the visitors ahead 1-0. The Lady Buffs continued to press, with Velasco forcing a save from Emily Clark. However, UT Tyler extended their lead when Jones scored again in the 87th minute. Despite multiple attempts from WT to respond, including a late shot by Velasco, the half ended with UT Tyler securing a 2-0 victory.

Blancaflor recorded five saves in the match, facing 12 shots with two goals allowed. Velasco led the Buffs with three shots, one of which was on goal.
Lawrencia Yeboah contributed with one shot on goal from her single attempt.
Sarah Hernandez Lopez also added a shot that was on target during the game.

Jones stood out for UT Tyler with two goals, including the game-winner, from six shots, four of which were on target. Clark contributed significantly in goal, playing 45 minutes and making two saves to maintain a clean sheet. Love provided a crucial assist, showcasing her playmaking ability.
