Harry’s First WT Victory Comes in a Sweep of Texas A&M International

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M head volleyball coach Brittany Harry picked up her first victory in Maroon & White on Friday afternoon as the #3 Lady Buffs swept past LSC foe Texas A&M International (25-20, 25-17, 26-24) during the BritKare Lady Buff Classic at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box".
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon with 44 kills on 95 swings with 17 attack errors to hit .284 as a team with 42 assists, seven service aces, 38 digs and seven blocks. Texas A&M International registered a .200 attack percentage as they finished with 36 kills on 95 attempts with 17 attack errors to go along with 33 assists, two aces, 31 digs and eight blocks.
 
Emma Becker led the way for the Lady Buffs with 14 kills on 24 swings with just one attack error to hit .542 on the afternoon to go along with six digs, two blocks and an ace. Camy Jones chipped in nine kills followed by Kaycee Cavanaugh and Angelina Oliver with seven each, Ainsley Malis dished out 19 assists while Hannah Pemberton registered 11 digs.
 
The Dustdevils were led offensively by Anna Ligart as the sophomore had nine kills on 20 attempts with two attack errors to hit .350 on the afternoon to go along with four digs, two blocks and an ace. Sierra Long chipped in seven kills to go along with seven digs, Emma Lade dished out a match-high 26 assists while Lixai Perez had 10 digs in the back row.

  • Head coach Brittany Harry picked up her first victory on the West Texas A&M sideline against her former team, Harry won 52 matches during her time leading the TAMIU program from 2020-23
  • The Lady Buffs are now 8-1 all-time against the Dustdevils, avenging their only loss of the series during last season's regular season finale in Laredo
