LOUISVILLE, Ky. – West Texas A&M softball landed four student-athletes on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America teams as announced by the organization on Wednesday. The Lady Buffs are one of three programs to have four members on the teams and are the only program with two players on the first team.
 
Diana Murtha earned her first All-American award after a standout season at third base. Murtha hit .483 on the season with 62 runs scored, 23 doubles, two triples, 18 home runs, and 10 stolen bases. In addition to leading the WT lineup in multiple offensive categories, Murtha's numbers ranked among the best of Division II hitters. Brittni Rufus also joined Murtha on the first team after hitting .428 on the season with eight doubles, eight triples, nine home runs, and a team-best 22 stolen bases.
 
Emilee Boyer received Second Team honors as a utility/pitcher. Boyer hit .324 in the 2024 season with four doubles and 17 home runs. As a pitcher, the Harrisburg, S.D. native pitched to a 23-3 record over 165 innings, accumulating 132 strikeouts during that time. Lauren Granger rounds out the NFCA honorees for the Lady Buffs after a breakout sophomore campaign. Granger ended the season with a .397 batting average with 19 doubles, two triples, and 12 home runs. After splitting time between outfield and catcher, Granger earned a spot on the Third Team as an outfielder.
 
WT, the 2024 Lone Star Conference Co-Regular Season and Tournament Champions, ends its season with an overall record of 50-8. It is the first time in program history the Lady Buffs have posted back-to-back seasons of 50 wins.
