CANYON, Texas – The #5 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M allowed a run in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday afternoon to split their Lone Star Conference weekend series with the #18 Lubbock Christian Chaps as WT fell 5-4 on Senior Day at Wilder Park.

The Chaps got on the board in the top of the first inning as they took advantage of a pair of WT errors that scored Shea Bowen and Jarred Gibson for the 2-0 lead. WT responded in the bottom of the frame on a Ryan Camacho RBI double down the right field line that scored Elijah Batista to make it 2-1.

The Buffs took their first lead of the afternoon in the home half of the third as Glenn Noronha and Kory Schmidt doubled home runs followed by a Dylan Fesperman RBI single to left to scorer Schmidt for the 4-2 lead. LCU cut into the lead in the top of the seventh on a Ryan Ball single thru the left side to score Nate Van Maanen followed by a Frayner Chaves RBI double to the gap in left center to make it 4-4.

LCU retook the lead in the top of the ninth as Brevin McCool started the frame with a double to center followed later in the frame by a Chaves sac fly to left that plated McCool for the 5-4 lead.
