Lady Buff Basketball Adds Local Standout Taytum Bell for 2024-25

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M head women's basketball coach Josh Prock has announced the addition of Amarillo High standout Taytum Bell to the Lady Buff High School Signing Class of 2023-24.

"It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the signing of Taytum Bell to our women's basketball program. When you think about West Texas girls' basketball over the past couple of years, one of the main players that constantly comes to mind is Taytum" said Prock "She is a complete player that has that unique ability to make everyone around her better and raise the level of basketball on her team. One of the best skills she has is on the defensive end where she can guard multiple positions very successfully. As we continue to build the program we will continue to strive to sign the best players we can find in the Texas Panhandle and beyond."

The 5'11 guard is currently in her senior season at nearby Amarillo High School where she averages 16 points per game for the Sandies. As a junior, Bell was a First Team All-District selection while also being recognized with All-Region and TGCA All-State honors.

Taytum is the daughter of Jermaine Williams and Kacie Bell and she is undecided on a major at West Texas A&M.

"The Panhandle area will always be our focus and it is very important for us to continue to legacy of Lady Buff Basketball. Taytum comes from one of the best high school basketball programs in the state at Amarillo High School where Jeff Williams has done a tremendous job with her and his program" added Prock "Coach Williams consistently does a great job of preparing his young ladies for the next level and Taytum is certainly no exception. She is an outstanding basketball player and is just as impressive off the court, she will represent our program and WT in a great way."

"Taytum came to Amarillo High as a top tier type of young lady and player as a freshman. What she has done since her first year until now has been one of the most enjoyable things I've been a part of in my career" said AHS head coach Jeff Williams "She is now much more than a top talent on the court, Taytum is a leader that cares for her teammates and brings value in all aspects of life to her team. WT is getting a good one for sure."
