CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M closed out their homestand in style on Saturday afternoon as they picked up their third straight victory, 67-56 over the Midwestern State Mustangs at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.

Kyla Kane led the way for the Lady Buffs as the Wellington product went 6-of-15 from the floor including 3-of-8 from behind the arc for a game-high 17 points to go along with three rebounds and three blocks.
Karley Motschenbacher chipped in 15 points while grabbing a team-high 10 points for the double-double.

The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 25-of-56 (44.6%) from the floor including 6-of-22 (27.3%) from deep and 11-of-17 (64.75) from the free throw line to go along with 41 rebounds (nine offensive, 32 defensive), 14 assists, 15 turnovers, seven blocks and three steals.

Makayla Coy paced the Mustang offense as the senior forward went 5-of-12 from the field including 6-of-6 from the charity stripe for a team-high 16 points to go along with 10 rebounds and two steals. Midwestern State went 19-of-66 (28.8%) from the floor including 2-of-10 (20%) from deep and 16-of-20 (80%) from the line to go along with 42 rebounds, six assists, 13 turnovers, one block and nine steals.

The Lady Buffs hit the road for LSC action on Thursday night as they travel to Odessa, Texas to take on the Falcons of UT Permian Basin with tipoff set for 5:15 p.m. at the Falcon Dome.Â
