CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M clinched their Lone Star Conference weekend series on Saturday with a pair of victories over the Texas A&M International Dustdevils at Wilder Park in Canyon.

The Buffs and Dustdevils close out their LSC series on Sunday afternoon with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m. in Canyon.

GAME ONE
The Buffs jumped out to an early lead in the home half of the first inning as
Ryan Camacho doubled to the gap in right center to drive in
Kyle Micklus for the 1-0 lead. The Dustdevils responded in the top of the second inning as Isaac Stanwick lifted a sac fly to left that plated Nick Chavez to make it 1-1.

TAMIU took their first lead of the game in the top of the third inning as Joseph Cruz doubled off of the center field wall to drive in Abiam Medina followed later in the inning by a Nomar Prieto two-run single to right with two outs to make it 3-1.

WT responded in the home half of the third as
Seth Ochoa singled thru the left side with one out to plate Micklus followed by an
Elijah Batista RBI single to center, WT wasn't done yet as
Rodric Black reached on an infield single to load the bases followed by a
Glenn Noronha two-run single to right center for the 5-4 lead.

The Buffs added to their lead in the fourth as Micklus and
Paul Wittmann scored on a wild pitch with no outs followed by a
Kory Schmidt RBI triple down the right field line. WT continued to add to their lead later in the inning as Noronha drew an RBI walk with the bases loaded followed by a Wittmann grand slam to right center for the 13-4 lead.

WT used the long ball again in the fifth as Black crushed a grand slam down the left field line to make it 17-4. TAMIU cut into the lead in the top of the sixth on a Ariben Gutierrez RBI single to right with two outs.

Douglas Rojas picked up the win (1-0) for the Buffs, allowing no runs on two hits with one walk and a strikeout during his 2.1 innings of relief.Â

GAME TWO
The nightcap saw the Buffs jump out to an early lead as Wittmann and Micklus would score on wild pitches followed by a
Dylan Fesperman RBI single to right, WT would take advantage of an error with two outs to plate a pair of runs to make it 5-0.

TAMIU answered in the top of the second as Antonio Buentello tripled off of the right field wall to score Cameron Yeldell followed by a WT error to plate another at 5-2. WT added to their lead in the third inning as Ochoa ledoff the frame with a solo homerun to center to make it 6-2, the Dustdevils would answer with a long ball of their own with a Yeldell solo shot to right.

The Buffs added to their lead in the fourth as Micklus and Camcho drove in runs with RBI singles to make it 8-3. The Dustdevils cut into the lead in the top of the fifth on a Nick Chavez RBI single, making it 8-4.Â

Matt Milner picked up the win (1-0) on the mound, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts in his 4.2 innings of work.
