CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M picked up their third straight victory on Saturday afternoon as they used a big second half to top the Western New Mexico Mustangs, 68-43 in Lone Star Conference divisional action at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.

Karley Motschenbacher led the way for the Lady Buffs as the junior from Moorhead, Minnesota went 4-of-7 from the floor including 1-of-2 from deep and 9-of-10 from the free throw line for a team-high 18 points to go along with four rebounds followed by
Jayla Burgess and
Zoey McBroom with nine points each.

WT finished the afternoon going 19-of-46 (41.3%) from the floor including 5-of-14 (35.7%) from deep and 25-of-34 (73.5%) from the free throw line with 42 rebounds (six offensive, 42 defensive), six assists, 13 turnovers, three blocks and three steals.

Milan Tuttle paced the Western New Mexico offense as she went 3-of-5 from the floor including a perfect 4-of-4 at the free throw line for a team-high 10 points to go along with two rebounds. The Mustangs went 15-of-54 (27.8%) from the field including 0-of-7 from behind the arc and 13-of-22 (59.1%) from the stripe with 33 rebounds, one assists, 11 turnovers, no blocks and five steals.

The Lady Buffs hit the road on Thursday night for Lone Star Conference crossover action as they travel to San Antonio, Texas to take on the Rattlers of St. Mary's with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena.Â
