Dominant Second Half Sends the Lady Buffs Home with a Win, 68-55

CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs trailed by as many as 12 early in the game before a big second half propelled WT to a dominant 68-55 Lone Star Conference divisional victory over the Angelo State Rambelles on Saturday afternoon at Stephens Arena inside of the Junell Center.
 
Karley Motschenbacher put on a show as the junior guard from Moorhead, Minnesota went 8-of-14 from the floor including 3-of-6 from behind the arc and 3-of-3 from the free throw line for a game-high 22 points to go along with seven boards, three assists and five steals. Nyalam Thabach and Kyla Kane added 13 points each followed by Grace Alvarez with 10, Thabach grabbed 12 rebounds for her 11th career double-double.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 24-of-64 (37.5%) from the field including 9-of-27 (33.3%) from deep and 11-of-16 (68.8%) from the charity stripe with 46 rebounds (14 offensive, 32 defensive), 10 assists, 13 turnovers, three blocks and 10 steals.
 
Madeline Stephens paced the Angelo State offense as the Lubbock product went 8-of-16 from the floor for a team-high 17 points to go along with six boards, two assists and two steals. The Belles finished the game going 20-of-62 (32.3%) from the floor including 3-of-16 (18.8%) from deep and 12-of-15 (80%) from the line to go along with 40 rebounds, 15 assists, 10 turnovers, three blocks and seven steals.
