#5 Lady Buffs Sweep Their Way to the LSC Finals

CANYON. Texas – The #5 Lady Buffs punched their ticket to the program's 20th Lone Star Conference Finals on Friday night as they swept past the Lady Patriots of DBU (25-20, 25-16, 25-22) in the semifinal round at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon.
 
Currie Marusak led the way for the Lady Buffs as the Amarillo product had 14 kills on 30 swings with six errors to hit .267 on the night with five digs and a block, Emma Becker continued to impress as she had 12 kills on 18 swings with just one error for an attack percentage of .611. Ainsley Malis paced the WT offense as the senior dished out 25 assists followed by Hannah Pemberton with 13, Bryli Contreras led the way in the back row with 15 digs and three aces.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the night with 48 kills on 104 attempts with 15 attack errors to hit .317 as a team with 45 assists, four aces, 45 digs and eight total blocks. DBU had 33 kills on 100 swings with 15 attack errors to hit .180 with 33 assists, four aces, 40 digs and five blocks.
 
Karly Wells registered 11 kills on 25 swings with four errors to hit .280 for the Lady Patriots while LSC Player of the Year Delaney Fuller chipped in 10 kills for DBU. Aryn Walton dished out a match-high 29 assists to go along with five digs while Daylee Doggett had 11 digs for the Lady Patriots.

  • The Lady Buffs are now 58-11 during the LSC Championship as they chase their 19th LSC Tournament crown, WT will make their 20th appearance in the title match and they are 18-1 with an LSC Championship on the line
