CANYON. Texas – The #6 Lady Buffs completed an unbeaten Lone Star Conference schedule for the 16
th time in program history on Saturday afternoon as they picked up a victory over the Texas Woman's Pioneers (25-20, 29-27, 25-23) for an outright 22
nd LSC Title at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in the regular season finale.
Emma Becker led the way for the Lady Buffs with 15 kills on 27 swings with just three errors to hit .444 while
Kaycee Cavanaugh (13) and
Currie Marusak (10) finished with double-digit kills.
Ainsley Malis paced the WT offense as the senior tied a season-high with 34 assists while
Bryli Contreras had a match-high 26 digs in the back row.
Myracle Stockman and Erin Jones both finished the afternoon with 14 kills for the Pioneers, Grace Reynolds and Kiana Reed combined for 45 assists and 13 digs with Luna Franca leading the way in the back row with 14 digs for TWU in the loss.
The Lady Buffs registered 58 kills on 132 attempts with 14 errors to hit .333 as a team with 50 assists, five aces, 43 digs and six blocks. Texas Woman's had 54 kills on 120 swings with 14 errors for a .333 attack percentage with 49 assists, one ace, 46 digs and seven blocks.
MATCH NOTES
- West Texas A&M is now 53-8 all-time against the Pioneers in a series that dates back to 1980, TWU is 2-28 all-time in Canyon
- The Lady Buffs complete an unbeaten Lone Star Conference schedule at 16-0, it is the 16th time that WT has gone undefeated in league action
- WT moves their win streak to 17-matches dating back to September 20th.

The Lady Buffs now turn their attention to the Lone Star Conference Championship as they are the top seed and host for next weekend's tournament at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon.
