CANYON, Texas – The #8 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M ran their win streak to 10 matches on Friday night as head coach
Brittany Harry claimed her 300
th career victory in a Lone Star Conference sweep over the St. Edward's Hilltoppers (25-18, 25-22, 25-14) at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" on Pain the Floor Pink night in Canyon.
West Texas A&M finished the night with 43 kills on 100 swings with 10 errors for an attack percentage of .330 to go along with 42 assists, four aces, 44 digs and five blocks. The Hilltoppers had 34 kills on 104 attempts with 18 errors to hit .154 as a team with 33 assists, four aces, 39 digs and three blocks.
Emma Becker and
Camy Jones led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as they finished with 11 kills each, taking 46 total swings with just one combined error. Jones his .611 on the night to go along with two blocks and a dig while Becker had four digs and a pair of blocks to go along with a .417 attack percentage.
Ainsley Malis paced the WT offense with 23 assists and 13 digs for a double-double.
Kelly Fording registered 10 kills on 35 swings with seven errors to hit .086 for the Hilltoppers to go along with six digs and a pair of service aces. Althea Morris led all players with 31 assists to go along with five digs while Bea Angeles had 11 digs in the back row for St. Edward's.
