CANYON, TX- The No. 5 Lady Buffs swept the St. Edward's Hilltoppers (25-19, 25, 15, 25-12) at home in The Box tonight. There were 17 Lady Buffs that saw action on the BritKare court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Buffs and Hilltoppers tied eight times in the first set before the Lady Buffs took off the last six points to win 25-19. As a team the Lady Buffs hit .405 in the first set and led in kills. 
 
The second and third set went by quicker with the Hilltoppers only scoring 15 and 12 points in each set, respectively. The Lady Buffs outpaced the Hilltoppers in digs, assists, and kills on the night. Back-to-back blocks by Kelsey Carpenter, Sharlotte McClintock and Emma Becker kept the momentum in the third and forced the final timeout for the Hilltoppers before the Lady Buffs finished the match.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
Sophomore Emma Becker led in kills with 9 on 16 attempts with only one error (.500%). Junior Camy Jones led in hitting percentage with a .583 clip with 8 kills on 12 attempts and one error. Ainsley Malis paced the Lady Buffs with 16 assists with Bryli Contreras leading the Lady Buffs in digs 11 and Kelsey Carpenter leading with two solo blocks on the night.

The Lady Buffs will play St. Mary's at 2 p.m. tomorrow in The Box in Canyon, TX. Following the match, the 2022 National Championship Lady Buff team will be honored with their National Championship rings at the WT Football halftime show.
