Buffaloes Drop a Pair on the Road at Lubbock Christian

CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M couldn't find a rhythm at the plate on Saturday afternoon as they dropped a pair of Lone Star Conference contests to the Lubbock Christian Chaps at Hays Field in Lubbock, Texas.
 
The Buffs and Chaps conclude their series tomorrow afternoon with first pitch of the finale set for 1:00 p.m. in Lubbock.
 
GAME ONE
The Chaps jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning as Jared Gibson and Ryan Ball drew RBI walks with the bases loaded to give LCU the 2-0 lead. Eduardo Acosta added to the Chap lead in the bottom of the third with a sac fly to center to plate Caden Hensley for the 3-0 lead.
 
LCU broke the game open in the bottom of the third inning as they plated five runs on four hits to along with a Buffalo error to make it 8-0. The Buffs would get on the board in the top of the fourth inning as Dylan Fesperman doubled down the left field line with the bases loaded to make it 8-3.
 
The Chaps added to their lead in the home half of the fifth as Brevin McCool singled thru the right side with two outs to drive in Hayden Blair for the 9-3 lead. LCU added some insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth as they took advantage of another WT error to plate two followed by a Blair sac fly to left for the 12-3 lead.
 
Reese Miller picked up the loss (4-3) on the mound for the Buffs, allowing seven runs (six earned) on four hits with five walks and four strikeouts in his 2.2 innings of work,
 
GAME TWO
LCU started off the scoring in the home half of the second inning as Jaxson Edwards singled thru the right side with one out to drive in Chris Shull followed by a WT fielding error that plated Blair for the 2-0 lead.
 
WT cut into the lead in the top of the third inning as Ryan Johnson singled to third base with one out to drive in Evan Leibl to make it 2-1. Schull added to the LCU lead in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI double down the right field line to plate Gibson for the 3-1 lead.
 
The Buffs made things interesting in the top of the sixth as Bryant Bailey beat out an infield single to second with two outs to plate Will Fuenning at 3-2. 
 
Maddux Hoaglund picked up the loss (1-3) on the mound for the Buffs, allowing three earned runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in his six innings of work.
