Buffs and Orediggers Announce Matchups in 2024 and 2025

CANYON, Texas – Two of the premiere Division II athletic programs in the nation have agreed to gridiron matchups to open the 2024 and 2025 seasons as Colorado School of Mines and West Texas A&M have signed a contract for a home/home football series announced by both institutions.

"We are looking forward to this home/home series for our fans and players. Golden, Colorado and Canyon, Texas are not only home to two premier NCAA Division II athletic programs, they also offer other activities and attractions for fans to enjoy around the game" said WT Director of Athletics Michael McBroom "I'm sure Mines fans will enjoy Palo Duro Canyon and Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, just as our fans will enjoy the Rocky Mountains and historic downtown Golden."

The Buffs will make their way to Golden, Colorado on September 5, 2024 to battle the Orediggers at Marv Kay Stadium with CSM making the return trip to Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium on September 4, 2025. The Orediggers, last season's Division II National Runner-Up, hold the 1-0 series advantage as they topped the Buffs (21-13) in Canyon back on September 25, 2021.

"Mines is very excited to open the 2024 and 2025 football seasons against West Texas A&M" said CSM Director of Athletics David Hansburg "The Buffs have a great football program and the series will highlight two of the best stadiums in NCAA Division II for our fans. We have many alumni in West Texas, as well, which adds to the excitement of the matchup."
